Platano El Gerente

Platano "El Gerente", a Dominican-American native from Plainfield, New Jersey was born on October 13, 1985. His Older sister Beverly instilled love for music at an early age. Growing up in New Jersey he spent countless hours playing video games and playing back yard football as well as pop-warner football, but listening to his sister sing in school events made him fall in love with music. He always in-visioned himself to be a professional football player, playing for the Pop Warner Cardinals, in Jersey. But his love for music overcame every other ambition. The road to the top has not been clad in gold but instead had been laden with adversity. To be a Reggaeton/Hip Hop artist in Atlanta can be an accomplishment on its own, but has been an everlasting struggle. His music however isn't of the typical Reggaeton artist, with tracks like "Ayo" that sounds like a NORTHERN style with a DOWN SOUTH hip hop/reggaeton feel. Platano "El Gerente" credits influences like Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Jadakiss for helping him form his diverse delivery and swagger. Opening for veteran artists such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Hector El Father has Platano "El Gerente" gathering a following around the world. The original style of English and Spanish lyrics immersed in the 808 drum beats is hard to stomach by your regular Reggaeton listeners. But Platano "El Gerente" understands and acknowledges this fact stating that "making music is a privilege not a right so you gotta stay humble"
