Postcard Helicopters is an in-the-box electronic music project. "In-the-box" is the jargon used for work created within a computer. This often suggests music that is concise and rigid, and particularly well-suited as dance music. The goal in this case is for something more organic; something that's more atmospheric than precise. Influences include Jean-Michel Jarre, Synergy, Brian Eno and the Berlin-era albums of David Bowie. Also, the spiritual influences of classical orchestral music and film soundtracks provide guidance and inspiration. Some of those composers include Claude Debussy, Eric Satie, Jerry Goldsmith and Elmer Bernstein.
