For over a decade, Latin Gospel Music listeners in the US and abroad have enjoyed the melodic, Latin music of Puchi Colon. Puchi (pronounced ‘poo-chee’) is a singer-songwriter, worship leader, musician and producer. Puchi is a native of New Jersey, and of Puerto Rican decent. His passion for his music compliments his sincere love for his savior, Jesus Christ and conviction to advance the Kingdom of God. Puchi recognizes his talent as a gift from God and surrenders it as an offering of Worship.
Puchi released his very first album in 1996 Titled, “Voy A Comenzar”(Penvel Productions) and people immediately took notice. In 1997, Puchi formed his band and since formed he has toured the United States and Puerto Rico.
In 2000, Puchi & his Wife JoAnn founded Jovi Music Ministries and released Puchi’s first English album “Salsa Praise”. Puchi “broke the mold” and gave the Gospel Music market something that it never really had, an entire Salsa Gospel album in English. In June of 2003, Puchi was awarded the prestigious honor of being New York’s Christian Radio (970dj) “Artist of the Year” for 2002-2003.
In 2003, Puchi was signed to One Voice Records and released “Lo Mejor De Mi, Para El” (My best, for Him) which confirmed his ability to reach a diverse, multicultural audience. His acceptance in both the Spanish and English markets granted him the ability to reach the masses. In 2004, Puchi was invited to sing at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, under former President George W. Bush.
Puchi has been featured on shows like TBN’s “Praise the Lord”, 700 Club (CBN), TCT Network, Puerto Rican Panorama (6ABC) & showcased at Expolit ’04 (Miami, FL). Puchi & his band has also been featured in “Medio Dia Puerto Rico” on WAPA America.
Puchi Colon’s goal is to respond to the high calling that God has placed upon his life through music evangelism and worship. He is committed to excellence in producing high quality music not solely for entertainment, but to lift up Jesus Christ and help bring faith to wounded hearts. In 2008 Puchi Colon released his highly anticipated second English album “Salsa Praise 2″. Puchi is mostly known for his cross-cultural style of SALSA PRAISE music in English that fuses elements from Latin Jazz, Tropical & Gospel music. In 2010 Puchi Colon released a Spanish album titled “QUE NO PARE” (Don’t Stop The Praise), this album features a special participation by his 4 boys on the song “I’ve Realized” and also includes a Duet with Legendary Salsa Artist Bobby Cruz on the song “Mil Razones”.
After releasing 10 studio albums, in 2011 Puchi Colon released his first LIVE album titled “Vertical Praise Live” recorded at Living Water Fellowship in Kissimmee, Florida.
