Pymlico is the creative vehicle of norwegian composer and musician Arild Brøter. The music is inspired by progressive acts, both old and new, film music, fusion, world music, ambient music and good pop music.
The first album "Inspirations" was released in the spring of 2011. With the help from 11 friends Arild produced an album full of different styles of instrumental music. Ranging from symphonic melodies to dark passages and from circus music to ambient themes.
The second album "Directions" was released in Desember 2012. This time a smaller group of musicians participated in the production. This album shows a darker and more symphonic side of Pymlico with a more contemporary production. The album received many positive reviews from websites and magazines dedicated to progressive rock.
The third album "Guiding Light" was released in September 2014. This album includes an even broader spectrum of genres, like film and world music, yet at same time has a more holistic style and sound.
All albums are released on "Spider House Records" and are sold through CD-baby, iTunes and Amazon and can be streamed at Spotify.
The records see involvement from many different musicians, but Arild has also gathered a regular live band to do concerts.
