Rafael De Ramus' Ingram

At age 7, Rafael began taking piano instruction at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.  In 2003 he went on to further his Music studies under the direction of Helen Kirwin, teacher emeritus at the Interlochen School. Under her direction he received Superior Ratings for his performances at The National Federation Festivals 2005 and 2006.  His performances include The Burgmuller “Ballade”, The Bach: Minuet in G and, “Eye of the Storm” by Robert D. Vandall.  In 2006 under the direction of Rodney Whitaker (Professor/Michigan State University/DSO youth Orchestra), in concert with The Arts league of Michigan Jazz program; he learned the history of Jazz in America and had the honor of playing in the Noel night performance and the ending season program through the Arts League of Detroit in which he was mistaken for "Herbie Hancock". In 1999 he landed a principal “extra” role in the Movie “'Living with Faith'”. He also gained greater musical momentum under the direction of Mr. John Winston (and The Winston Academy). He was challenged in guitar, vocal/dance and acting instruction. In 2001, he received a certificate in game design, creating and completing six to ten video game levels of game design through The University of Michigan (Cyber-camp). He has also written and recorded several Jazz compositions, and movie scores. In 2010, he created his first film short for a class project at Lawrence Tech University, titled: 'BlankSpaceBook'. Which he wrote, directed, and entered in the DWIFF (Detroit Windsor International Film Festival). He hopes to make more films, and not only hone his craft as a film maker, but also a musical composer and musician.
