Rauf Khalilov was born on October 6, 1981 in Baku, Azerbaijan, in a very creative family of artist and musician Azad Khalilov and Gamar Khalilova. Since childhood Rauf was interested in designing, and was fascinated by science fiction and space. He studied in the National High School of Art named A.N.Alekperova piano, then later he was transferred to the high school fine art department. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphics Azerbaijan State Art Academy.
In 2003, Rauf Khalilov began his career as a movie director, removing a few experimental short films, including: "One Minute and Four Seconds", «Exit», «3 Days», etc.
In 2008 he was invited to Los Angeles as a director to work on his first feature film "Ideal World". Since 2009. He also began to engage in electronic music, releasing the album "Monopolar World" and several famous singles such as "Venus", "Good Morning Apollo", "Out of Milky Way".
Later he continued his directing work, removing the animated film "The Chairs" and short film "Stability". Both of these films were at the Cannes Film Festival in the section of short films in 2011 and 2012.
