97 year old Ray Penfield started his singing career as a choir boy at Saint John The Divine in New York. After taking some years off to serve his country fighting in Europe during WWII, moving to California to raise a family, do market research for the BART system in the Bay Area and help his wife Thelma in her picture framing business, he is back! "A Paradise 2 Be" is his first single release available as a download. His second release "Dreams For 2" was co-written with composer Ian Ritchie as was "A Paradise 2 Be". Ray has performed both song at Ian's weekly "Jazz at the Crown" event in Cricklewood's Crown Moran hotel in London. In addition, he joined his daughter Holly to see in the New Year in 2012 at the Savoy Hotel where Holly and her band were entertaining the select clientele. Ray was the one that sang "Old Lang Syne" and brought the house down. In addition to his original songs, Ray has become something of an internet sensation with his YouTube cover of Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" His latest release just you and me is another Ritchie/Penfield co write and is his best yet. Ray continues to live in Orinda, Caliornia, but makes frequent trips to Europe. In 2013 Ray released "Just You And Me" and the following year 2014 sees his fourth single entitled "What A Miracle"
Ray died in December 2015 and will be missed.
