When we learn to step back and view the world from a distance. We begin to realize how trivial day to day worldly concerns truly are. Material thing lose their value, ignorance is no longer an obstacle, mortal affairs are of little consequence, and people or things, or thoughts that have frustrated us in the past, no longer have any power over us.
This is possible because we can learn to look beyond apparent surfaces and see the world through the eyes of an observer. Thus removing the individual - it is not the individual in itself, possessing intrinsic existence, but a small vantage point within the whole. The pond does not blame the wind for disturbing its still waters.
