Reese

Biography

Reese is the solo project of songwriter, guitarist, and
producer, Reese Perkins. This power trio’s blues-rock sound
resonates with hints of pop and funk. Their music is a fusion
of Jimi Hendrix and Matthew Sweet, accented with creative
guitar licks reminiscent of those by John Frusciante of the
Red Hot Chili Peppers. Although frontman Perkins hails
originally from Southwest Louisiana, he has performed as
lead guitarist on various projects in Austin, Texas since 1994.
Currently rounding out the lineup of the band is Ryan Lindsay
on bass and Kevin Gathright on drums.

The latest release from Reese, Backslider, is a broad collection
of songs with a wide dynamic. It features a variety of styles,
creative songwriting, and stellar guitar work. In addition to
writing all of the music and lyrics on Backslider, Perkins also
produced, engineered, and mixed the album.

Before focusing on his solo career, Reese Perkins performed
as lead guitarist and producer for such artists as Wendy
Colonna, Rebecca Cole, and Michelle Mayfield. He has
shared the stage with a myriad of performers ranging from
popular artists like Marc Broussard, Guy Forsyth, Rachel
Loy, Bob Schneider, Patricia Vonne, and Casey McPherson
to Grammy Award winners like Ray Benson, Shawn Colvin,
and Grammy nominee, Tab Benoit. Reese has performed on
the Austin City Limits television stage, at the Austin City
Limits Festival, and at the South by Southwest Festival.

Reese is currently performing in Austin, Texas and
surrounding regions with his band, The Phil Wiseman Band, The Michelle Mayfield Band, and Done Deal. For more information, photos, and the
