Reid Jamieson

Biography

Reid Jamieson is a classic Canadian heartbreaker with an incredible voice and a magical way with melodies. 2009 finds him hard at work writing a soulful follow up to his well received 2004 album The Unavoidable Truth, not to mention releasing a rather unintentional fifties era tribute to Elvis Presley.

The Unavoidable Truth, was produced by Josh Finlayson (Gord Downie, Skydiggers) and features guest appearances from Sarah Harmer & Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco) while showcasing his choirboy ways, therapeutic lyrics and alt-country-pop hooks. You really should score a copy.

A stellar live performer, Reid appears with some regularity on CBC’s Vinyl Cafe (on tour this October in Ontario) and also releases free digital only cover versions of some pretty swell tunes on Reido Radio.

File alongside fellow rootsy singer songwriters: Jeff Buckley, Neil Finn, Damien Rice, Ron Sexsmith, Jack Johnson, and Josh Rouse. And please stay tuned for more from this tender troubadour...

"Neither derivative nor nostalgic...The Unavoidable Truth, is a work of elegant, understated beauty... enveloping the listenerin the atmospheric glow of his soulful vocals."- Paste Magazine (4 to Watch)

"After Reid appeared on the Vinyl Cafe we received tremendous feedback from our audience. He stole the show...He blew me away." Stuart McLean - CBC Vinyl Cafe

"Jamieson's songs are unabashedly crisp (take that, Bonnie Prince!), drenched in wistful piano/guitar melodies, and centered on his satin whisper." - CNet.com
