Resonator

Biography

Resonator was founded in 1997 in Münster, Germany by Anja Kreysing and Kai Niggemann as a sound art project. They started with sonic sculptures, silent film soundtracks and live audio/video works and developed their presentation style into full fledged live concerts, but without abandoning those initial concepts. Their first full length studio release “Red Room Diner” came in 2003, prompting invitations to the 2006 and 2008 “Creole-Festival für Weltmusik” in Dortmund, Germany among many other concerts. They enjoy performing live on stage as well as in more unusual locations and have worked extensively for theater/dance as well as film.
Their influences evidently range from the accordion based songwriting of eastern Europe and Jo Privat to experimental electronica from modern classical like Shostakovich to the meandering techno of Underworld, from kitsch to musique-concrète...
Ästhetik ohne Grenzen.
