"Reva Cheri has a soulful and sultry voice that's part Earth mother and part 'round-the-way girl. It's a unique and compelling combination." - Chris Jordan, Pulse
About the Artist: Reva Cheri is a writer, technologist, educator and musician who is overly sensitive, dry witted and often reclusive. But appearances can be deceiving as she's known to wear her heart on her sleeve. Born and raised in south New Jersey across the river from downtown Philadelphia, rock, gospel and soul music contribute to a sound that is unique and compelling. Reva's passion for life is apparent in her soulful pop-rock and hip-hop opuses, which have been described as poetic, cinematic and emotionally-charged. Full of anthems of regret on electric guitar and violin infused odes to love lost, her EP touches on universal themes with deeply personal lyrics and powerful vocal delivery, straight from her diary to your heart.
Musical Journey: Reva received vocal and piano training from age 12 at Settlement Music School in Camden, NJ. At age 16, Jazz and hip-hop became heavy influences and she began to look inward finding her own voice. In 2005, she met producer Alex Elena and his then partner, singer/songwriter/violinist Imani Coppola in 2005, and the three worked on a demo that consisted of songs written by both Imani and Reva that same year, which are available on the "Star Again EP." That same year, Reva landed a principal vocal role for Wendy’s national “Your Way” campaign singing Peter Frampton’s classic “Baby I love your way”. Since 2006 Reva has performed with handful of NYC based bands, including A Broken Code and Lution. She is currently recording new music under the pseudonym Trick James.
