Richard Piedra "Richy Rox" Biography
Born on February 2, 1970, Richard Piedra is a 25 year veteran of the music industry. Richard started playing guitar at the age of 12 and spent his early years learning bar chords and mimicking his guitar idols like Steve Vai, Edward Van Halen, and George Lynch. He did this with very little understanding of music theory. After years of studying and playing music, Richard developed into a diverse artist with a wide musical background and an intuitive playing style. Although you can often hear many of his influences in his playing, his originality really shines through when you listen to his many well crafted compositions.
Over the years, Richard has written hundreds of original songs and has recorded many CD’s with numerous bands in the past two decades.
Richard Piedra independently released his new CD “Richy Rocks” and it will be available as a download and on CD in 2013. The CD consists of 10 very powerful and energetic songs that really represent how far he has come as a singer, songwriter, guitar player and keyboardist. Richard plays all of the keyboard parts and bass tracks on the Richy Rox album.
“Being able to play and express oneself through music is real blessing. The feeling I get when playing the guitar or writing a new song is nothing short of amazing. It’s a feeling that only true songwriters and musicians can really appreciate. I am very grateful that I have the ability to play and write catchy music that I am pretty happy with.”
Maybe someday I will write a HIT song that the world will hear.
