At the age of 14 Rick Altizer became a Christian and began a bible study in his home at 17. He graduated from The University of Houston with a degree in Political Science. After college he moved to Los Angeles to become a rock star. In California he pursued music and was a staff writer for Warner Chappell. Later he was managed by Elliot Roberts (manager of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Neil Young).
After getting tired of bloody noses from closed doors, he moved to Nashville, TN where he became a staff writer for Benson Music and then EMI. He was signed to Buddy Killen's label, KMG records, where he met his current business partner, Kent Songer. There he sold dozens of records and gained even more fans. He is currently an entrepreneur and co-owns his own record company and marketing company. He has sold over 1 million CD’s and owns the most successful Christian Children’s music brand – Worship Jamz.
He has been married to his lovely, patient wife, Jan (the best) and has 2 boys, David and Matthew.
He loves spending time with his family, leading his home group “The Food Network,” and collecting guitars.
