CutTime Simfonica is the newest creation revolutionizing classical music for curious music lovers. The idea of Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) bassist Rick Robinson (AKA Mr. CutTime), CutTime Simfonica features principal DSO string players and the occasional woodwind solo for the intimate symphonic experience. They are ideal for churches, schools and clubs. Robinson's music features rich counterpoint and beauty while flowing naturally into urban dance pop and folk styles.
Robinson also began the mixed octet CutTime Players in 1995 with seven DSO colleagues by performing Igor Stravinsky's music-drama The Soldier's Tale. The instrumentation seemed to work like the ultimate mini-orchestra. So Robinson began transcribing several famous classics, such as Peter and the Wolf, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, The Comedians Suite, Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, Pictures at an Exhibition, symphonic movements and a few overtures. Concerti feature the players in the group. These were now possible to perform in small venues.

Robinson also began the Detroit chapter of Classical Revolution (.org) which offers free readings in bars, restaurants and coffeehouses around the city to expose new audiences.
