Rick Stancil Bio
Rick Stancil Born 9/29/1961 in Houston Texas and raised in Tomball Texas by Lowery and Edwina Stancil. He was the 3 child of 5 growing up in a family with parents that played Bluegrass.
It wasn’t until Rick was 21 when he began to sit in and play with his parent’s bluegrass band. This is when he realized his love for music. It was at 21 when his father gave him a guitar and began teaching him how to play. At 23 Rick hooked up with singer songwriter Lance McCarty and played venues in California to Las Vegas.
Rick released his first song “PARIS” off of the 1993 CD “Blue Monday Morning”. “Paris” top the charts at #9. That was his only release off of his first album.
In 1996 Rick recorded his second full CD self titled “Rick Stancil” (Armadillo Records 1996) There were a string of songs that charted off this album. “Boy’s You Gotta Learn To Dance”, “Damn Good Drinking Song”, “Laws Of Love”, “She’s Easy To Miss”, “Your In Love With The Wrong Man”.
“Damn Good Drinking Song” had the honors of being the #10 song of the decade of the 90’s in Texas.
Ricks Stancil third album “A Walk To Remember” (Diamond Music Group 2012). Its lead off single “A Walk To Remember” topped the Christian Country Chart at #1 twice in 7 months. At this time he is waiting to release “A Walk To Remember” to the mainstream country stations worldwide.
Rick enjoys recording in his own recording studio as well as playing live shows. He also works as a flight nurse when he’s not on stage performing. He has stayed in the medical field because of his love in helping people.
