The Water is Wide

This is an instrumental version of the classic song. Using Scottish Smallpipes, bass (Rob Barrick) and guitar (Peter Clark), this arrangement highlights the beautiful melody and has a mellow, soothing feel.

Scottish Lilt New!
2011
The graceful nature of this dance warranted a softer approach for a new arrangement. This time Celtic harp and Scottish Smallpipes were the choice for an almost classical sound.

Earl of Errol New!
2011
This is a first in a series of new versions of Scottish National dances developed for practice or performance. Using the same melodies as the usual pipe tunes for these dances so they are familiar, a new arrangement of percussion, bass and other instruments adds new life to the old tunes. This version of the Earl of Errol uses some Reggae rhythms and heavy bass to accentuate the already strong feel of this unusual tune. Hopefully this will be a fun new way of dancing the National dances!
