With influences stemming coming from the British invasion acts and early punk rock pioneers of the 1960’s and 70’s, Rob Tonsick creates songs that are derived from rock’s golden age. Crafted over the years in the dank rock clubs of Los Angeles and smoke filled apartments of friends; his self-titled debut blurs the lines between music genres resulting in deliberate arrangements and eclectic material.
From humble beginnings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the suburbs and eventually city of Los Angeles; Rob Tonsick’s continuing journey now finds him based in San Francisco, California. Having spent the last several years performing and collaborating with fellow artists and friends: (David Alexander – Icon Collective, contributor - BPM magazine / Brian Cohen – Line and Circle / Mike Kegler – The Missing Chums, Asher / Jake Drake – The Kill Company / Jason Jackson – Trading Sand), Tonsick now returns to the studio working on his second effort scheduled for release in late 2011 . The historical city along with its numerous microclimates provides several new backdrops for the artist to explore and with them, new stories to tell.
