Robert DeCrescenzo: Rhythm and Lead, and Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboards, Vocals, Music, Lyrics
Music has been my life from a very young age. I remember being about 6 or 7, with a toy drum set, playing to ‘ Honky Tonk Woman’ and ‘Superstition’ (notice that both songs begin with a drum beat) ;) A while after that my mother (God rest her soul) made me take guitar lessons. I couldn't understand it at the time, but now I thank her for it. It has become my favorite instrument. I soon afterwards took up the Bass, and then Keyboards after that.
Growing up, I was constantly surrounded with different types of music. My father listened to Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, etc. and even some country (Hank Williams). My older brother Michael was always playing The Beatles who have become one of my biggest influences. My other older brother listened to Led Zeppelin (another huge influence), my sister loved the Oldies (50’s and 60’ music) and I grew up with KISS, Donna Summer, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, Prince… etc. The list goes on. So, combine all of that, and you got me.
I’ve been writing songs since I was 16 (some 25+ years ago). Many of the songs I have originally date back to around that time (‘Traveling’), ranging up to a couple of years ago (‘Folk Funk’ instrumental and ‘This Time’).
I hope you enjoy what you hear.
