Robert Lampis

Biography

During his studies at the Meistersinger Konservatorium-Nurnberg guitarist Robert Lampis gave numerous concerts together with flute player Sabine Volkmann, and also with guitarist Georg Graser as the guitar duo "Due Musici". After additional studies with Klaus Jäckle he became a student of the well-known concert guitarist Wolfgang Lendle at the Musicacademy Kassel, where he finished his studies with great success. Several master classes, with renowned performers like Manuel Barrueco, Hubert Käppel, and David Russell, followed.
Robert Lampis gives concerts as a soloist; with soprano Hanna Eittinger as the “Duo Torrente"; and with author and reciter Gerd Berghofer in several programs with music and literature.
He interprets 19th-century repertoire on a period instrument; which gives his concerts a pleasing diversity of sound.
Another focus of his art is the combination of electronic music with the concert guitar.
In his solo concerts the guitarist engages his audience with interesting background information on his chosen works; a well–balanced mixture intended for professionals and amateurs alike.
Beside his classical studies he worked a lot with improvised music. Together with Edmund Steinberger (reeds) he played since a few years in a duett.
