BIOGRAPHY
When she was a kid Tat Jane heard Neil Young's 'The Needle and the Damage Done' on the radio. His voice, the song, touched her deep inside. She made up her mind, at that tender age, that she wanted to sing and express herself in this way. Not just to sing, but also to create her own songs, that would perhaps touch other people hearts, like her heart was touched when she heard Neil Young’s songs. She wanted her songs to TELL STORIES, possibly inspire people, move them and perhaps touch their hearts. She could only hope that one day one of her songs might move someone as much as she was moved when she heard that Neil Young song. That was the driving force that made her seek out a place where such a thing might happen. She journeyed to Amsterdam, then Canada, and then finally came to New York City.
It was 1994 when Tat Jane came to NYC. From the moment she stepped onto the NY pavement she was tremendously inspired and moved by the city's energy.
This inspiration led to her creating new lyrics and songs; such as 'An Apple Bank', 'Business Baby', When You Step On Mad' and 'Help Wanted'…
