Rod Phillips is a Mid- and South- West songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and singer who currently resides near Springfield, Missouri in the Ozarks. He has 13 albums to his credit, including eight songwriter albums and a half dozen instrumental CDs. He plays thirteen instruments and features all of them on his albums, both instrumental and vocal. His songwriting is remIniscent of the acoustic folk music of the 70s in the style of Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel and others with influences from Classical, Broadway, and Jazz. He is primarily a piano player and has toured and traveled with MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHEY ("Wildfire", "Long Line of Love", "Cosmic Cowboy", "Geronimo's Cadillac", and "What's Forever For"), the NEW CHRISTY MINSTRELS, (Grammy Award Winners with "Today" and "This Land is Your Land") and JIM STAFFORD, Floridian comedy singer ("Spiders and Snakes", "Swamp Witch", and "Wildwood Weed"). His musical range is widespread and features his mastery of the piano and a thorough knowledge of styles from Traditional Hymns, Contemporary Christian, Broadway, Classical, and Jazz. A true Renaissance man with music, he notes vocal influences from the Folk movement, along with jazz greats Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and the smooth vocals of Perry Como and Andy Williams. A new two-part CD, "ROSALIA (I and II)" will be released in October of 2011, featuring 25 intriguing songs recorded in the past 12 months.
