ROD SPENCE
Motto: “Never Give Up On Your Dreams”
“Keep The Faith And Be Positive”

Rod Spence, born in Jamaica, developed a very strong interest in Entertainment at an early age, loving a variety of music, and performing at many School Functions.
Rod recorded his first single in 1969 on the Beverley’s label, and also did some back-up vocal for Artists such as Derrick Morgan and Desmond Dekker ( in Jamaica).

His love for Entertainment came back to life after performances in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area at some of the top Caribbean Clubs, Weddings and various Charity Functions in the eighties. In 1986 Rod decided to produce his first album, (FRAGILE) which was released in 1989, getting airplay in the Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Houston, New York, North Florida, Jamaica and London areas.

Rod still performs in the South Florida area at different functions such as, Weddings, Church Concerts, Office Parties (Offices like SunTrust Bank and Greenberg Traurig law firm included on Las Olas Blvd.), and Charity Functions.
He also is the Lead Singer for “The Mighty Vikings Band”, (based in Miami) who does different functions such as Ballroom Dances at places like Signature Grand Hotel, Ft. Lauderdale Convention Centre and Deauville Beach Resort and Stage Shows at different venues such as At & T Amphitheatre. Rod does a variety of music, including Reggae, Soca, and R & B. He also has performed on Shows with many popular Jamaican and International Artists such as, Hopeton Lewis, Boris Gardner, Marcia Griffiths, Cynthia Schloss, Culture, Ken Boothe, Alton Ellis, Derrick Morgan, Tyrone Taylor, Melodians, Desmond Dekker, Ken Lazarus, Byron Lee & the Dragonaires, The Techniques, Freddie McGregor, The Manhattans, The Bluenotes and The Moments just to name a few.

Rod likes to perform songs by a variety of artists (of course including his own original material) going back to the fifties. Rod’s second album (CD) “First Prize” was released in 2004, and he’s very proud of the work, which includes original materials (Reggae and others). He also has Religious CDs available “The Spiritual Side Of Rod Spence Vol. 1 (How Can I Cry)” Vol. 2 (Tell Him So), Vol. 3 (King Jesus). Vol. 4 (Giving Thanks) and Vol. 5 (He’s Faithful).
Rod is always working on new songs, some of which he writes and help arranges. In early 2008 Byron Lee of Byron Lee & The Dragonaires asked Rod to record five songs for his Soca Royal CD which was released in the summer of 2008. He also did some shows on tour with Byron Lee & The Dragonaires in 2007 and 2008. Rod’s new Cd “Never Say Never” is now available(released 6/2009).

Rod’s a natural born entertainer who loves what he does dearly and believes in quality music. When appropriate, he also enjoys adding some Religious music to his performances. Give Rod Spence the opportunity to pleasure you – you will love what you hear – guaranteed!
