Roland Marconi, a lifelong collector and student of music has been performing and recording music for over 30 years. His passion for music and instruments from every part of the world, combined with a fascination for electronics has generated a diverse and prodigious body of works that spans the genres of Pop, Rock, Jazz, Electronica, Ambient and New Age and World. His most recent projects include the Electronic music group, RESONICA and the socio-political blues group, The Special Interests.
As a guitarist, songwriter and music producer, Roland has been an integral part of several pop and rock original music projects such as “The Rexalls”, “The Ions”, “Satyricon”, “Roots of Reality” and “Intimate Strangers”, in which he has performed and recorded using video, audio samples and a mixture of acoustic, electric and electronic instrumentation.
Also as a producer, songwriter, guitarist, percussionist and project coordinator,
Roland has created “A Chance for Peace” a compilation CD benefit for “Educators for Social Responsibility” to promote peace and social justice education in our public school systems.
He has composed and produced theme music for the Carl Zeiss Inc. promotional video “The 150 Year Tradition” , The Foundation for Ethics and Meaning’s television series, “Visual Voices” and the nationally syndicated “The Gary Null Show” weekly radio program as well as scoring the soundtrack music for the award winning Gary Null produced video documentaries, “AIDS - The Untold Story”, “Gulf War Syndrome: A Deadly Legacy” and “Deconstructing the Myth of AIDS”.
Roland’s music has also been featured on The Weather Channel.
As Music Composer, Sound Producer and Video Artist for the Turano Dance Company, Roland has participated in the critically acclaimed productions of “Captured”, “In-Active Sleep”, “Carmen”, “Carmen in the Underworld” and “Xpulsion”.
