Hello! My name is Ronny Cary, and I sing and play guitar. I'm in two bands, one called The Crucial Step, and one called Magellan's Folly. The former is a hard indie rock unit, the latter a socio-political duo. In addition to these two bands, I have a nice little solo career. This is the page onto which you've stumbled.
My music? It's quite varied, hence the multiple projects. My solo music tends to be much more poppy and melodic than the music in my bands. Acoustics interact with electrics, I throw a few synthetic concepts in for good measure, and I write some songs that are fun to play, and hopefully fun to listen to.
I have an album for sale, called “Red For Ronny”. Released in 2007, it contains many of the songs that I've performed for the last 8 years of my music career, including “Nobody's Sweetheart”, “7th Street”, and “Seeing Red”. I'm working on a new solo album called “Hello, Friend!” No target date for that album yet, because it is still being worked on. But I'll keep you all updated.
In addition to music, I am also a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a degree in sociology. This “side career” in social theory influences my music quite a bit.
