Rosalind Richards, composer and classically trained flutist, known for her popular world-inspired music, has composed many music collections including new age, jazz and world music styles from such cultures as India, Ireland, Japan, Medieval Europe and Peru. Her albums are an exciting and unique mix of cultures interpreted with jazzy rhythms and soulful flute harmonies. At times the tracks are upbeat and energetic, while at other times they are longing and meditative.
Rosalind has taught World Music classes at two San Diego universities for 10 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Flute Performance and Music History. She is a professional flutist and combines the love of performance and the love of historical and world cultural music in her compositions.
Rosalind has been composing and performing for 25 years. Some of her influences have been Herbie Mann and Paul Horn. Her career had an amazing start when her group Ginseng played concert venues with the Frank Zappa group Mothers of Invention. Her music is also heard in film soundtracks and has airplay internationally.
