Biography

Internationally acclaimed for her performances in a variety of genres ranging from classical, musical theater, jazz and pop, ROSEMARY GEORGE belts out the songs from the "girl group era" of the 1960's in her new CD entitled: Stupid Cupid:The Girl Group Era. This six year project originally named 'The Songs and Dances of the 50's and 60's' began in Hong Kong's beautiful New Territories venues in 2004. She was joined by the Jason Cheng Trio. In 2008, this show made it's way to London's West End (Jermyn Street Theatre) and Covent Garden (Octave Jazz Club) with a "critic's pick" from London's Time Out Magazine. She was joined by the award winning John Turville Trio. New Yorkers got the chance to groove to the show at The Stone and Lang Hall. Renamed "Stupid Cupid:The Girl Group Era", the CD Release show took place in Harlem's Black Box Theater sponsored by Loft Arts Productions. Appearing on her CD, are a band of renowns including JD Parran (flute/sax), Kelvyn "Kelvynator" Bell (guitar), Steve Little (drums), Roger Anderson (keyboard/bass) and singers Marcus Dargan and Brenda Alexander.

Rosemary George has performed at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center out of Doors, Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Recital Hall, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, and in numerous festivals including Caramoor, New Hampshire, Waterloo, Beethoven and abroad at the Edinburgh Festival, the Jerash Festival in Jordan and The Theatre Museum, St, James's PIccadilly and the Barbican Centre (in London), as well as numerous performances at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
