Roy Crawford was raised on traditional country music and has been singing all his life. However, it was not until 2009 that Roy decided to make a CD, and was picked up by the Country Discovery record label. His background is very interesting. He graduated from the United States Military Academy and was commissioned a second lieutenant of infantry. Seven years later he transferred to the Adjutant General's Corps, where he served another 21 years in various command and staff positions in units throughout the United States and Germany. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and also holds master's degrees from both Webster University and Central Michigan University.
After retiring at the grade of lieutenant colonel, he earned national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Society for Human Resource Management's HR Certification Institute. He then served as Senior Vice President for Human Resources for Kirtland Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for five years. Roy is active in church activities and Toastmasters International. As a Toastmaster, Roy has served as District 23 Governor (for all of New Mexico and west Texas) three times, leading his District to Distinguished District status each time. He has earned designation as a Distinguished Toastmaster (the highest level of recognition) six times, and in 2008 was awarded a Presidential Citation by the International President of the organization. He has also won awards in speech contests at club, area, division, and district (state-wide) levels.
Roy's first CD is entitled "Over the Moon." It revives his interest in traditional country music, and he is accompanied by a top-notch group of musicians. His fans are already looking forward to his next production with great anticipation.
