Rue Mevlana

Rue Mevlana is an electro-pop supergroup based out of Burlington, Vermont. Formed in 2005, “The Rue Crew” includes Nathan Jarvis (vocals, programming, synthesizer, keyboards & guitar), Marya Vallejos (viola, bass & keyboards), Jess Mateik (drums, bass & vocals), Hannah Wall (keyboards, guitar & vocals), Rebecca Wallace (vocals), Shelby Ferland (vocals), Mara Bethel (vocals) and Justine Crosby (vocals), with many special appearances.
Rue M. is known for their elaborate multimedia stage shows which offer an abundance of glam, sex, schmaltz, humor and horror. They are often sociopolitical in nature yet always fun. Their performances are a staple at the annual “Winter is a Drag Ball” benefit for the VT People with AIDS Coalition.
Their first album, Drop the F Bomb, was released in 2007, followed by Batz & Beez in 2009. Their first film, Rue Mevlana’s Danse Macabre, premiered at the Roxy cinema in Burlington, Vermont, in October, 2010.
