Ruth Lopez-Yañez received her Bachelor of Music degree from San Diego State University and her Masters of Music degree from California State University Northridge. She has performed internationally in Canada, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Poland and Switzerland, as well as in many cities in the United States.
Ruth has won numerous songwriting awards including 1st place in the New York Pro/Am Songwriting Competition, winner in the Jewish American Songwriting Competition, winner in the Canadian Songwriting Competition, and winner in the Nashville Songwriting Competition. Her songs have been recorded by artists in the U.S. and abroad and have appeared in short films and in print music. She loves working with children and is constantly inspired to write new learning material for them.
Ms. Lopez-Yañez has worked as a classical musician for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, The San Fernando Valley Men’s Choir, Opera Aguascalientes, and several universities. She was an artist/ pianist on the Music-Minus-One CD’s put out by the Marantz Piano-Corder company. Presently she serves as Artistic director/conductor of The San Diego Jewish Men's Choir, and is on the music faculty of Palomar College and Miramar College.
