Biography

Ryan Ahlwardt is a singer, songwriter, and arranger in the world-renowned 10-man a cappella singing group Straight No Chaser. As an acoustic singer/songwriter, he has opened solo for such artists as The Beach Boys, Martin Sexton, Gabe Dixon, and more. He has released three independent albums: I Can See Forever (2006), The Malibu EP (2007), and Live From Malibu (2008).

Ryan is featured on Straight No Chaser's four albums (Atlantic Records), which have sold over 400,000 copies worldwide to date: Holiday Spirits (2008), Six Pack (2009), Christmas Cheers (2009), With a Twist (2010), and Live In New York, Holiday Edition (2010). Along with co-producer and a cappella community figurehead Deke Sharon, Ryan wrote the witty holiday tune "Who Spiked the Eggnog," whose music video on YouTube has garnered over 200,000 views.

When Ryan is not touring with Straight No Chaser, he lives outside of Indianapolis with his wife, who joins him on "Turn My Head to Home" (I Can See Forever, track 10).
