BIOGRAPHY
Sage Joyce Sevilla is a singer songwriter who has a dedication to diversity education, youth leadership, and social justice. An educator-administrator by day, she comes from a musical family, where playing several instruments and singing was as natural as breathing. Her father, Miguel, was a Lutheran minister/guitarist, born and raised in Puerto Rico, and her mother, Lorraine, a German-Jamaican concert pianist born in Chicago, who turned down a career in classical music performance to work in education and music ministry. With over 100 songs in her archive, Sage hopes to deliver her unique sound to audiences worldwide with her debut CD, Red Classic: Angel, a five-song independent music project dedicated to her beloved parents. Sage’s sound has been described as Latin, bossa nova, jazz, tantric and her lyrics flow seamlessly in two languages: Spanish and English. Her aspirations are to unify the mind, body, and spirit through the universal language of sound. Her band, deSevilla will be performing several CD release concerts in the New York City area in the fall of 2011. Que viva la musica! Long live the music!
