Pianist & composer Sagy Segal was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
He started playing classical music at age 7 and discovered jazz at 18 when he met Dr. Jonathan Shapira (physician & pianist).
After serving at the Israeli army he gigged in and around Tel-Aviv while simultaneously pursuing studies in software engineering.
In 1999 he relocated to the Netherlands where he continued his musical studies and received his bachelor degree in piano jazz music.
Sagy Segal is currently living in Amsterdam and working as both musician & IT business analyst.
With his 'Global Village' quartet his original compositions mix jazz with traditional world music.
His latest album 'Global Village' was released in August 2009.
