Sam Kazerooni

Biography

Sam Kazerooni has been playing electric guitar on and off (mostly on) for over 20 years. His influences were mainly genres that were popular back in the mid-80's, guitarists like Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen, hair metal and politically motivated hard rock and thrash outfits that were littered across North America and Europe back in the day.

Completely self taught, Sam aspires to inject some of his Persian heritage into each track, using mainly minor scales and chords and giving most songs a more Mediterranean feel and groove. His latest offering, Light It Up, is his forth album and was produced mixed and compiled entirely at his home studio in Vancouver (along with the percussion and keyboards, which he also arranged) and will be released through his publishing company Sagaris Publishing Ltd., in conjunction with Fossil Records, his label based out of Godfrey, Illinois. He is currently a member of SOCAN (the performance rights society in Canada) and is at the moment working on film and video game insertions.

Instrumental metal with an ethnic twist. Think Joe Satriani with the guitarist from Dio on rhythm. Playing to 'tabla' percussion. As well as a lot of 80's style rock riffs. Only heavier.
