Sam Sims

Biography

Sam felt an extreme inspiration to start making music when he started songwriting at age 14. The songs written and performed by Sam represent an eclectic mix with various overtones played on the guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. Sam is influenced by a variety of musical styles including folk-rock, reggae, blues, Hawaiian, slack key, alt-rock, and bluegrass. Natural aspects, spiritual connections, and cultural ideology play a key role in the songwriting. The compositions are written as a window for love and peace, and are targeted to all listeners...

A few of Sam's musical influences are Robert Johnson, The White Buffalo, Pearl Jam, Robert Bradley, Tracy Chapman, IZ, Willie Nelson, Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Jack Johnson, and many of the local musicians from the Jersey Shore.
