At the age of ten, Sandy Lusco Huffman began formal guitar training. By the age of 13, she was writing and performing country, folk and gospel music in her school, church and community. It was the “Jamboree U.S.A. Star Quest Talent Search”, a weekly live/radio show, held at the Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling, WV, that helped launch Sandy into a professional music career, while still in high school. At the age of 16, she became their youngest regular member and opened shows for many nationally known artists, such as Alan Jackson, Hank Williams Jr., Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, Tammy Wynette, Porter Wagoner, Bill Anderson and Donna Fargo. The following year, Sandy recorded two of her original songs for a Jamboree U.S.A compilation album.
Time and a vast array of experience has blossomed Sandy into an energetic and very versatile entertainer. She has performed alongside of many very talented musicians, but primarily is a solo performer, delighting audiences with her angelic voice and skills on her 12-string acoustic/electric guitar.
Sandy is also an accomplished songwriter, having written over 150 country, gospel and children’s songs. She continues to write and record her original music, as well as songs her audiences request the most.
Upon surrendering her life to Christ at the age of 19 and receiving His precious gift of salvation, music took on a much more important direction for Sandy. Her most important goal in all of her performances and recordings is that her love for Christ will shine forth. She is always eager to respond to God’s evangelistic call upon her life, sometimes being asked to lead entire services at churches, for revivals, homeless shelters and nursing homes. Sandy is an experienced worship leader in both her own church and others. For 15+ years, Sandy has led large groups of children in worship for the Release Time Bible program in PA. A mother of three grown sons, Sandy has a special way with children and delights in sharing songs and stories to charm youngsters and encourage their participation. And her music has proven to be therapeutic to those who have special needs and challenges by the many smiles she brings.
