Sane was born over 2 months pre-mature at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, CA on July 23, 1986. Raised in San Leandro and Oakland, CA, Sane took much pride in his Bay Area roots. He took up martial arts classes as a kid and looked up to movie stars such as Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jean Claude Van Damme. He earned his black belt at Pallen's Martial Arts in San Leandro. He loved watching and basketball, football and baseball. His musical influences were Michael Jackson, 2Pac and Bay Area rap of the 90's and early 2000's. He first started writing raps in the 4th grade at the age of 10. Basketball and martial arts had to move over. He had found his new passion. But like many others growing up in the Bay Area, he was distracted by the lure of the "street life". He started drinking alcohol, sold weed and ecstacy, got into many fights and was kicked out of school three times. It wasn't until his favorite rapper Mac Dre was tragically killed in late 2004, that Sane decided to get back to his rapping. He and his closest friends formed the rap group "Dis-O-Bay" and made many mixtape songs from 2004 to 2007 and created a little buzz through out the East Bay. The original group consisted of Sane, Teezy, J.I., Stoopidmann, T-Money, L.P., Diezal Don and A.R. Still involved in the "street life", they went from selling drugs to committing robberies. In the summer of 2007 Dis-O-Bay group members J.I., Stoopidmann, Teezy and Sane caught a bank robbery charge. Sane and Teezy were able to post bail. Soon after, Sane found out he was going to be a father. This combined with the charges against him really woke him up. He decided he had enough of the "street life" and was going to focus 100% on his music and his new family. Then in December of 2007, Sane, T-Money and A.R. were shot leaving a club in San Francisco's South of Market District. Sane spent 2 days in San Francisco General Hospital after surgery and then another 2 weeks in Kaiser. His pregnant girlfriend Crystal was there for him for the whole two weeks. They married three weeks later on January 12, 2008. Six months later they welcomed their son Rueben Ray Jr. to the family. For the next 2 and a half years he continued to fight his bank robbery case and do his music. He was able to release three mixtapes "Dis-O-Bay ENT - Pushin Tha Issue Mixtape", "Sane & Teezy - 2 Treal Mixtape", "Sane - Tha Lost Trackz") and a solo album ("Sane - The Mobulation"). He ended up receiving a year in Santa Rita County Jail which is 255 days. He turned himself in June of 2010 and was released in January of 2011. While incarcerated he received his G.E.D. Since his release he entered Cypress Mandela Training Center and plans to invest some "legit" money into his music and take Dis-O-Bay Entertainment to the top. Be on the look out for his new mixtape "Sane - Early Features Mixtape" and the debut Dis-O-Bay album, yet to be titled...
