Scott Wilson spent his early years in San Diego, but moved to Los Angeles to attend college at UCLA. He first started playing in bands in Los Angeles during his college years, and eventually released three cds with two different bands, VFX, and Cruel World. During this period Scott also played in local clubs around Los Angeles, and did two European tours.
Upon returning to San Diego, Scott began playing local open mikes including Twiggs and Lestat’s, and shortly thereafter joined what became The Gandhi Method. After leaving that band, Scott briefly joined The Cathryn Beeks Band as a bassist, and then in September 2005 released his first solo album, called Kaleidoscope’s End.
In March of 2006, a music video for Coffeehouse 101 was released as the first single from the album. The video was released on the web, and has been viewed over 40,000 times on a number of sites. The video features over 50 San Diego musical artists lip synching the words to the song.
Scott is currently playing with his new solo band, Scott Wilson and the Contradictions. The band performs both acoustic and electric alternative rock sets in San Diego and Los Angeles. Scott’s music features a diverse array of influences ranging from The Beatles to Nirvana and from Led Zeppelin to Jellyfish. Scott is currently working on the follow up album to Kaleidoscope’s End, and is currently performing songs from what will become the next album. For more information, please go to metalogicmusic.com.
