Scraping For Change (SFC) is a Bay Area based Trio that is redefining modern day rock/punk. Expanding on the vocal styles of 30 Seconds to Mars, Green Day and The Offspring and incorporating some heart pounding instrumentals, SFC has been mesmerizing crowds every time they take the stage. SFC is known to have stellar live performances full of energy and crowd interaction. SFC formed in Belmont, California in 2003. Scraping For Change consists of Vocalist/Guitarist Sterling Selover, Bassist Jonathan Graham, and Drummer Jonathan Mumma.
Scraping for Change played at the legendary Playboy Mansion in May, 2007. They followed this show by taking a summer tour throughout Indonesia in July and August of 2007 to play in the largest music festival of the year, “Soundrenaline.” The average attendance at each festival show was 50,000+. Their song “Crazy Mary” climbed to the 1 spot on the Top 40 Charts of Prambors Radio right above Kanye West’s “Stronger," and various other acts including Yellowcard, Sum41, Jordin Sparks, Shiny Toy Guns and more!
Scraping for Change released their first official three song demo CD in April, 2004. SFC completed their first album, “Heartaches and Danger,” in August, 2004. SFC released their second album "19*6*3" in August of 2008.
Scraping For Change has been reviewed in Guitar Player magazine and several newspapers including the San Mateo Daily Journal, The Turlock Journal, and the Tri-Valley Herald.
Scraping For Change finished their new album, 19*6*3, in August of 2008 and it is currently available on I-Tunes, CDBaby.com, Snocap, and select record stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. More recently SFC has been defining their sound by spending several hours experimenting with various styles of music and thus creating an infusion of rock, punk, and metal yet to be heard by today's world. SFC is currently writing/recording for their third album. Do not expect it out any time soon as they want this to be a long and fulfilling process in which the end result is far greater than their initial expectations. Previews of the songs will be posted periodically on the myspace site over the next year or so until the album's release!
