The sound of Sharlene is the epitome of passion, effectively fusing sentiment and inspiration with dance floor beats and sultry Caribbean flavor. Boodram cites her family (particularly her father) as the largest and most consistent support network throughout her young career, releasing her very first record in her country of origin, Trinidad, at the age of 11. This invigorating passion paired with Boodram’s modern style and flair is a reflection of the young singer/songwriter’s experience, having collaborated with international producers, writers, artists, media, recording, publishing and distribution companies for more than 15 years. Boodram is excited to once again be working with Trinidadian producers. She is determined as always to keep the authenticity of the Caribbean elements that are apparent in her world fusion style.
Sharlene - Sweeta, Boodram’s debut album distributed by Universal Music KK, saw unswerving success on European and Asian charts (achieving number one position in many countries), likely as a result of heaving touring. The independently released album Brand New Day followed, and gives a glimpse of Boodram’s international experience as a musician, and her growth as a young woman following the biggest success of her career. The modern Caribbean infused dance sound of her single song releases Brown Eyes and Carnival Baby is undoubtedly the style that international audiences have come to expect from Sharlene. Most recently, a side of Sharlene not seen before is apparent in the single Sunny Skies... With Little Chance of Rain. This relaxed, heartfelt tune is euphoric.
