IN THE EARLY STAGES of her career, Sharon also hosted a television show for a large Medical Hospital System; appeared in television commercials, served as on-air talent for corporate videos, voiced commercials for Time Warner Cable and PAX TV, as well as for independent clients, and did print modeling. She also held her own radio program on NewsTalk 640 radio. Sharon was an actor and dancer at Paramount’s Carowinds, acting as various Star Trek characters to include Vulcan, Bajoran, and human. There she also sang and danced as teenage Pebbles Flintstone in the show “The Flintstones Go Hollyrock!” Sharon was the TV Anchor and reporter for “Great Expectations” television program about an area school system. She gave special appearances as Emcee for the Miss Fayetteville Pageant and the Re-Grand opening of Cross Creak Mall as well as enjoyed being an on-air auctioneer for the Find a Friend Auction. Off the beaten path of a creative personality, Sharon joined forces with her parents and sold real estate with the family business. Also in the business world she worked in the North Carolina Legislature for four terms as the Chief Administrative Assistant for a senator and as a Sergeant-at-Arms. At 19 years of age, it didn’t take her long to find the chapel in the legislative building and to begin holding chapel services full of music and talk. Sharon is a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was on the Dean’s List. She is married to a wonderful man named Doug.

Sharon sings a range of musical styles, but her favorites are Inspirational, Big Band, and contemporary. Without a doubt her favorite songs are songs of worship, but she also enjoys singing old classics, big band, and show tunes and often sings some of these classics at event such as Valentine’s banquets.

Sharon is available to sing concerts and specials ranging from one song to one hour. She is also available to speak, but will most certainly break out in song to drive a point home. Her passion is to share the love of God in creative ways. She loves humor and brings it to every concert and speaking event. She can also tailor a program for your group.

Sharon Hinton Smith is springtime all year long. She bubbles with enthusiasm and joy. Her positive attitude is infectious so that by the end of the first song, the congregation is a toe tapping, head nodding, hand clapping celebration of God’s gift of life. Sharon's words and witness are a blessing as she lives what she believes!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful voice and spirit with us Sunday at the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Autryville Church of God. In Christian love,
Myrtle Autry & Family

We just wanted to thank you again for such a great evening of worship and ministry. We really appreciate you sharing your time and the giftedness God has blessed you with through music. I have heard nothing but great things from our people. As a matter of fact, one person (who does not give out compliments frequently) said that that was the best 5th Sunday Night Concert they have seen in the 11 years they have been there!I hope we were able to be a blessing to you and your ministry. We hope we can have you guys back with us sometime in the future. Thanks again! Not Ashamed - Romans 1:16

It was so wonderful seeing you this weekend! My kids and I were truly blessed by you. God has given you such a special gift and talent. Every time you sing, speak or even smile at someone they feel it in their very soul. Continue letting God use you to open other peoples hearts.I have come to realize since we met that I have become a better person. I've always had Christ in my life but you have instilled a joy and a faith in my soul that I've never had before.

What a joy it was to meet Sharon Hinton Smith and to hear her uplifting music in concert! Her talent is amazing and her witness for Jesus Christ is very evident in her song and her life. She uses her beautiful voice to encourage, to uplift, and to bring us together in worship through the songs she has written. Our congregation is anxiously awaiting a return engagement as we received a tremendous blessing from her first concert. One of my favorites is the praise medley that begins with Psalms 42 – "as the deer pants for the water so my soul longs after you." I would highly recommend Sharon to any church that seeks to worship through music. She will provide a blessing by being with you.
Elton Anderson, Music Director
Pine Springs Baptist Church, Texas

Thank you so very much for blessing us with your ministry of music. You are such a beautiful young woman--on the inside as well as the outside. So many in our senior group have said how much they enjoyed your singing and they've not said that about anything else we've had at church. I guess you have a new fan club. Most of all they saw Jesus in you! Again, thank you very much. Love,
Rebecca Gullickson

Sharon Hinton Smith is anointed of the Lord to bring refreshing joy, and abundant blessings, through Christ-honoring music. The Lord has used her wonderful singing talent to bless Village Baptist countless times. It is my great privilege to recommend her to you.

Sharon began writing songs and poems in elementary school. Her debut CD “Faithful” (1998) includes seven original songs, some of which were penned in her childhood. As a matter of fact, her title song, “Faithful,” was the first song she wrote beginning with a poem in elementary school. It was was written from a deep desire to serve God with unwavering faith.

This album is refreshing as it offers a variety of musical styles such as adult contemporary, praise and worship, southern gospel, a touch of blues, traditional, and an old Bing Crosby big band favorite.

There are many songs of encouragement, such as the updated big band song “Accentuate the Positive,” and “Move On” which is a cool groovin’ song about letting go of the past and moving on to the greater things God has for one’s life. Verse two is taken from 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him for he cares for you.” “Coastin” is a fun upbeat song about living in the freedom of God and coastin’ on His strength instead of our own.

While on a mission trip in Africa, to her surprise, the people continuously requested the song, “Tell Somebody,” which is the sole southern gospel song on her CD. It’s a song that expresses the heart’s desire to tell somebody about God’s love.

“As Clear as a Picture” is a heartwarming song about parent’s bringing up children and one day having to let them go. It was originally written for the parent’s of a bride and groom. It can also be used for a graduation ceremony. It’s a very sentimental song with clear visual imagery in the lyrics.

“Faith is Not What You See” was written for the unbeliever who says all Christians are hypocrites. It emphasizes that all Christians are imperfect, so don’t let the imperfection of man keep you from knowing God. Jesus, alone, is the way, the truth and the life!

For those who love worshipful songs, “I Will Sing Praises,” “The Praise Medley,” and the classic “My Tribute” usher one to God’s throne, focusing on His amazing attributes.

Sharon’s insightful lyrics coupled with the mood of the music simply enlighten the soul. The lyrical wisdom goes far beyond that of someone her age. This CD will inspire you to live a positive life and to be Faithful to God in all you do.

It’s "As Clear As A Picture" that "Faith Is Not What You See." Faith is a belief in God’s promise that His blood purifies us. So "I Will Sing Praises" as "My Tribute" to God as He has helped me continue to be "Faithful" to Him as I "Accentuate the Positive" and "Move On" past difficulties with His strength. It makes me just want to "Tell Somebody" how they can have a better journey in this life "Coastin’" with God as their strength. I hope you enjoy the music of my heart... Sharon

Sharon's Christmas CD, Christmas Dreams, is soon to become a yearly favorite with her smooth, buttery rich vocals singing beloved Christmas classics. Sprinkled in between are some new songs with which you are sure to fall in love. And you don’t want to miss her original song, You Captured My Heart, which could become one of the best Christmas songs of the season! The response has been phenomenal. Her imagery of the final goodbye between God and His Son is a picture never seen before. It creates a brand new song full of worship.

Her musical styling on this project includes live brass and beautiful strings, together creating a warm Christmas sound. Enjoy the big band flair on a few songs including the unique styling of Jingle Bells, which is sure to get your toes tapping. Unforgettable is the melding of the intimate guitar and her graceful vocals which create the perfect Silent Night. This Christmas collection is one that can easily be played at a dinner party or for a party of one, drinking cocoa by a cozy fire. Every Christmas lover deserves to indulge in their own Christmas Dreams.

Hear those "Jingle Bells" ring as we take a cozy "Sleigh Ride" through a "Winter Wonderland." Maybe we’ll run into "The Man with the Bag" as he brings "Joy to the World" with his presents and jolly laughter. Although, there’s no greater gift than the one God gave when He sent His Son, Jesus, "Down to Earth" to bring peace to the souls of all people. No greater love has the world ever known than the true "Christmas Story" which began one "Holy Night" with the "Birthday of a King." For a moment, creation stood still and bowed to this little "Infant Holy" who was born in a lowly stable. Among the laughter and cheer of this glorious season, may we all take a moment to celebrate the beauty of this "Silent Night." As you roast warm "Chestnuts" on an open fire, may you "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" listening to the heartfelt sounds of my music, and may the God of all creation who loves you "Capture your Heart" just as He has captured mine. Merry Christmas, Sharon

Wow! Sharon has a beautiful voice! It has the same tone and richness of Karen Carpenter's voice, but prettier.

Sharon has achieved what seems to be impossible...create a CD of Christmas songs that are so fresh you just can't stop listening! Even my young daughters requested to play the CD again and again!! Jingle bells will get you in the laughing mood, her soothing alto vocals lullaby children of ALL ages, and her own song "You Captured My Heart" coupled with "Down to Earth" brings the listener to a worshipful remembrance of the true reason we celebrate. A wonderfully well-balanced compilation of songs that will add character and pizzaz to any Christmas song collection--we love it, and you will too!

This album is a great rendition of all the favorite holiday songs. Love the soothing vocals, has a traditional sound with Sharon's distinct approach to this type of music. It even has an original song... when's the last time you heard an original holiday song? The sound is crisp and clean... excellent piece of work!

Myra and I have a copy of your new Christmas Dreams CD and we think it is FANTASTIC! You are one of the finest vocalists I have ever heard. I have enjoyed your music so much that it has brought tears to my eyes. Your wonderful music will surely soon become a classic. Our daughter, Sandra Parker Ross, said you sound just like Karen Carpenter. Your voice is marvelous. As a former band director I can say this with authority. " Sincerely in Christ,
Weeks Parker
[Former college and high school band director in North Carolina schools]

I received this CD as a gift shortly before Christmas and still listen to it all the time, even though Christmas was over weeks ago. I like to listen to the upbeat, faster tempo songs in the morning to get me pumped up for the day ahead. The slower songs are so soothing and really help me breathe when I get back in my car after a long day. They also help me remain calm when I am stuck in the middle of traffic or bad weather. It's a must have in your collection.
Debi P.

I LOVE YOUR CD!! I just listened to the whole thing while I was wrapping Christmas presents. I just love the mix of songs. It has some of my favorite songs on it. Just wanted to let you know that you made my evening.

Not only do you sound beautiful (no surprise there) but the selection of songs is wonderful from old favorites to new ones. Thank you, thank you, thank you for thinking of us! Please know that we will be singing along with you this Christmas season. All the best,
Kay & Nathan

I could listen to Sharon sing all day. My four year old daughter loves to hear the song, Jingle Bells. Just a beautiful voice. My mother in law bought the cd and though Christmas is over, she still keeps it in her truck.
Melissa Powell

Sharon Hinton Smith's Christmas cd is delightful. Her choice of songs is excellent. She has a nice mix of traditional songs and songs you don't hear as often. The cd also includes an original song that is quite beautiful. Her voice is rich, smooth and perfect for a Christmas cd.
Heather Fuqua

“You Captured My Heart” is my favorite song on Sharon's CD. Not only is the song beautiful but she wrote it and that makes it even more special. The entire CD is wonderful. Knowing Sharon personally, the songs she is singing and the way she sings them lets her lovely, heartfelt personality shine through every word. Even if these are songs you've heard before, Sharon will make you want to hear them again and again.

This album is the most awesome Christmas album to come out in years. Each song is sung with the love of God shining thru

Sharon’s newest release is an incredible song which shows the deep passion that God has for His people. The song is sung as if God is speaking directly to the listener. Sharon's smooth vocals cry out the passion of the lyrics from the very heart of God.
This original song with video can be seen on YouTube. It's one of the most moving videos coupled with song focusing totally on Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross for all humanity.

She has co-Authored a book called Conversations on Faith with various authors to include actress Ann Jillian, baseball great Dave Dravecky, and Robert Schuller from Insight Publishing, a Tennessee-based publisher. This collection of content-rich interviews is designed to encourage and motivate people from all walks of life to live an abundant, faith-filled life.

Sharon is the designer of a beautiful Christian jewelry line called the Glimpse of Heaven Collection® based on the beauty of Heaven as described in Revelation. This collection continues to gain in popularity as inspiring, encouraging and a way to share one’s faith.

After the loss of her 17 year old Yorkshire Terrier, Sharon created a new memorial for animal lovers, called "Paw Prints on My Heart." "Paw Prints on My Heart" combines a beautiful poem and special memorial keepsake to bring comfort and healing to animal lovers. The Paw Prints on My Heart memorial website also offers a free memorial page to all who wish to pay tribute to their furry friends. These special gifts are a caring way to share God's love with those who are hurting.

Through all of her accomplishments, Sharon remains true to form. With her whole heart she knows that it’s “not about me.” She earnestly desires to give God all of the glory and point others toward His Truth and saving grace. “When it all comes down, there is a much bigger picture than what we see in front of us. We need to open our eyes and see that there are only two forces present, Good and Evil. There is no in between. We are either with one or with the other. . It is our choice.”

Perhaps there's no better way to describe her than by using her own life motto:
"Life on earth is short, so make each day a good one!"
