Shawn Rock

Hip-Hop artist Shawn Rock
Shawn Rock is the rap lyricist delivering smooth yet edgy, analogical word play. The self-proclaimed “Luva G” is cut from a different cloth when it comes to rap artists. His influences range from Slick Rick, Nas, Biggie, to Kanye West and Jay-Z. But his biggest influence comes from a seemingly surprising person, his Mom. “My mom is a poet. She would write her pieces (poetry) out and she would teach me how to write in a pattern, and line format when I was like 10. She’s also my harshest critic. I write from the heart. Whatever or however I’m feeling at that point gets relayed thru my pen and onto the paper. So I put my heart into everything I do”. His mission is to give his audience exactly what they expect and that’s a highly energetic performance. Whether it’s live, or recorded, his infectious energy will consume the crowd or listener immediately and leaves them thirsting for more.

In 2010 he teamed up with long-time friend, R&B/Soul singer-songwriter Chris ‘Stylz’ Copeland to record an album entitled “Hardcore Smooth”. The duo released 3 singles “Candy Girl”, “Elegant”, and “10 Count” off the album and shot videos published on YouTube and other music promoting websites. In January 2012 the two went their separate ways in order to pursue solo careers.

Shawn Rock maintains his focus to create music that is sure to relate to his fans and many music lovers and casual listeners alike. His intriguing concepts and intricate deliveries give his music the ability to connect with a wide demographic.
Shawn Rock has performed at Harrah’s The Pool opening for Def Jam recording artist Jaysun. He’s performed at the Jerkins Entertainment Expo, Wyked Kyss model search at Kennedy Plaza, and was featured on Young Jeezy’s Dj, DJ Fahrenheit’s mix tape.

Shawn Rock is a tireless worker who is regularly in the studio creating genre bending music that will hopefully attract new fans. His second album Rhythm & Rhymes is set for release on Amazon, iTunes, and Tune Core august of 2012. The project has received rave reviews from a market study panel attended by music journalists and his piers hosted by Fire Howse Productions and FMD Entertainment in June of 2012.
