Biography

Identical twin sisters Katelyn and Laurie Shook have been singing together since the womb. Their band, “Shook Twins”, is a unique blend of banjo, guitar, djembes, tambourines, whistles, and wah wah pedals. Combined with chilling vocal harmonies, beatboxing and looping, the sisters create an organic progressive folk sound that has been moving audiences since 2005. Their main influences are Ani Difranco, Fionn Regan, Bob Dylan, Bjork, Feist, The Be Good Tanyas, Iron and Wine, The Beatles, and Joni Mitchell. Shook Twins have performed with bands such as: Ryan Adams, Mason Jennings, Johnatha Brooks, Michelle Shocked, JJ Gray and MoFro, Soul Asylum, The Bodeans, Frame of Mind, Equaleyes, Elephant Revival, Taarka, Kaylee Cole, Karli Fairbanks, Joel Smith, John Craigie, Josh Hedlund, and many more amazing regional artists and bands. They are different and Precise. They have 2 albums currently out, and they hope you enjoy them.
