BIOGRAPHY
A little info about Shotgun Betty and Todd Hayden: This project fell into my lap at a time when I was trying to feel out my musical roots as a solo artist. I would begin to play and write songs that weren't quite the same previous style and sound as my first solo album, The One Thing. I went with it and began recording my versions of 'open road' songs. Songs that could immediately tell you a story as you hauled ass down a dusty road in your hotrod through the middle of nowhere. A little rock 'n roll cowboy, a lotta bit of rebel. My version of Outlaw Rock.
Countless songs and ideas were written and recorded. Not being quite sure of where I wanted to place myself as a solo artist, I decided to title this effort Shotgun Betty. An alias, so to speak. Demos that would eventually become tracks for Flat Black Shine were recorded from November 2010 to April 2012. During that time I feel I have grown as a musician and have since found the sound I have spent years looking for and enjoy playing.
