Sitting Next to Brian is the singing and songwriting outlet for a guy named Brian Marchese. If the name sounds vaguely familiar, it's because he's played drums for a dozen or so acts over the past decade. But we're not here to talk about his drumming, though it's quite good on the Sitting Next to Brian stuff. His songwriting draws from all sorts of pop influences, some real, some imagined; somewhere between bubblegum bliss, narcotic oblivion and a rude knock on the door to tell you that the party's over.
