Skip Morris has performed all sorts of music professionally, from country western to 50s rock to blues, for years, but his deepest musical love has always been jazz. As a guitarist, he's done studio work, taught jazz guitar at the college level, and has played up and down the West Coast, from Phoenix to Anchorage and many cities between. For the past ten years he's written the "Player to Player" column for JUST JAZZ GUITAR magazine.
He's been singing since before his teens, and on nearly every gig he's told that he "sounds like Mel Torme"-- even if he's singing "Amazing Grace" or some other song nothing like Mr. Torme ever performed. He's been hired in the past strictly as a vocalist for studio work and big events, but usually, when he's singing he's also playing guitar.
