The Snozberries formed in 1989 at St. John's University in Minnesota. This college rock band's sound showcases their eclectic style, fusing folk rock, blues, funk and shades of punk. Their name is derived from dialogue from the 1971 film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Veruca Salt: "Whoever heard of a Snozberry?" Willy Wonka: "We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams." The Snozberries performed in clubs on campus, at St. Joseph, St. Cloud and Minneapolis (notably, Red Carpet, Fineline Cafe, First Avenue and at Pinestock with Soul Asylum). They released three independent albums recorded at Mirror Image Studios in Minneapolis, engineered by William Bailey.
