Socrates Vavolotis is an artist who plays trumpet and also percussion. Trumpet was his first love at a very young age and like
so many growing up in the sixties, bands like Blood, Sweat & Tears, Chicago, and Tower of Power became influential. He started
touring with local bands at the age of 19 and performed at many colleges and concert venues, most notable the Hatch Shell in Boston
and the "Woods of Dartmouth" festival in 1970.

In 1972, Socrates completed a BA from the University of Mass Dartmouth and upon graduation joined a 9pc jazz-rock band that formed
in Boston Mass called Back Bay Brew. In the early 70's music became very influenced by rhythm and Socrates became the percussionist
in the band playing Congas and Timbali along with doubling on trumpet.
Through the years, this experience has carried on and inspired the original music he plays and composes today.
