Sontas is made up of musicians, dancers and singers from counties Donegal, Derry and Tyrone. Featuring bagpipes, flutes and whistles along side more contemporary instruments, this group creates a fusion of sound like no other.
Drawing on the influence of both their Irish and Scottish backgrounds and blending that with contemporary playing styles and arrangements Sontas have created a sound and visual spectacle that is both technically impressive and hugely entertaining. On this album you`ll hear the influences from Irish traditional music and Scottish traditional music, but fused together in a way you won`t have heard before. The band have been recently said "The album is a huge milestone for us, with over half the tracks on it being brand new music, composed and arranged by the group itself. It promises to be an exciting listen." The rest of the album is an eclectic mix from the traditional back catalogues all reworked in the unique Sontas style. Prospect Road - "That I should leave out before the dawn, Down Prospect Road my soul now gone. To a troubled heart be my worries small, But I should have my rise fore I take my Fall"
