British born, NY based, John Ford – is best known for having penned Gold and Double Platinum Record award winning, chart toppers “Part of the Union” (Strawbs), Bad Habits and Suspended Animation albums (The Monks). Ford’s rich musical history includes an Ivor Novello Award for “Part of the Union,” with multiple appearances on Top of the Pops, Uncle Floyd Show, Juke Box Jury and more. Ford has shared the bill with other legendary acts: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Eagles, Jefferson Starship, Ritchie Blackmore and Blackmore’s Night, Dave Mason, Blue Oyster Cult, Marc Bolan/T. Rex, Steppenwolf and more. Ian Lloyd is best known as lead singer for #1 hit “Brother Louie,” as well founding member of Stories band. Lloyd can be heard singing the theme song for Louie C.K.’s hit comedy on FX – Louie. Lloyd has performed with numerous recording artists, assuming the role of a session musician. His long discography of work includes background work with artists such as Foreigner, Billy Joel, Peter Frampton, and Yes. Ian is also performing alongside his musician son, David Lloyd as a Duo and with Stories. Space Drama (AKA fmr DJ Jill Morrison and member of Space Rock band, Argon & The Flying Saucers) adding a feminine mystique with her vocal contributions and presence. Worth mentioning -- Ford and Lloyd rocked the stage at Chiller Theater 2011 After Party!
Both Halloween tracks have all the trappings of a Halloween Deadman’s Party for The Night of the Living Dead and anyone daring to venture out with creatures of the night up to The House on Haunted Hill -- loaded and chock full of vampires, silver bullets, blood, bats, bells, witches, corpses, caves, monsters, body snatchers with spider hors d’oeuvres -- Frankenstein and Igor sipping champagne, all the while delivering namedropping nods to Edgar Allen Poe, Nosferatu, Creature of the Black Lagoon, music of the night by Phantom of the Opera, Bride of Frankenstein with “The Werewolf’s hairy hands on her dessert” all rolled into two fun and cleverly crafted songs. “You gotta shoot ‘em with a silver bullet,” and bet Elvira, Bela Lugosi and Barnabus Collins were there (at least in Spirit) for plenty of good cheer and chills!
For the dance worthy --“Halloween I’m The Nightmare In Your Dreams” by Space Drama, a pop, electronica dance project where John Ford finds ample distance exploring new areas of dance, pop and electronica, far away from his early Brit rock & punk periods. This tune has a colourful audio edge like with a Thriller flow. Also, featuring songstress, Space Drama (AKA fmr DJ Jill Morrison); adding alluring and vixenesque vocals or a distinctly female dimension, typically not present in other Ford’s works. Ian Lloyd goes all out with his chilling and creepy clever background vocals and weird EFX.
The rocking, “Halloween -There’s A Party Going On” with Ian Lloyd of Stories, is a first for the FORD LLOYD project (also on CDBABY). This is Halloween Rock at its BEST! Sounding like Zacherle and The Munsters meet The Addams Family at The Rocky Horror Show or a “Dead Man’s Party,” with a bit of Dick Dale, Danny Elfman, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan elements thrown in -- for a good time call lol!
